We are inexperienced, ignorant, and otherwise probably unqualified, but we'll do our best. So for posting number one, we have entered a picture of 'ellie's growing belly. Everything continues to go unbelievably smoothly throughout this whole ordeal, for which we are very thankful.
If you have any funny quips, advice, clever wittisisms, or other various and sundry opinions about pregnancy, we are certainly open to those. Whether or not we heed is an entirely different issue, but we promise to listen. We're very new and depending on the "wise" cousel of others.
It's still undetermined how frequently this will be updated. If we told you daily, or at least tri-weekly, as is the plan, we might be lying. Or not. It's kinda hard to say. Please check back regularly though, because things change very fast around here.
The long-term agenda is to achieve blogging proficiency over the subsequent months so that when the enormous bulge in the photograph miraculously becomes an independent (in some ways) entity, we will possess the ability to post daily pictures for those who care to track the growth of said entity.
To the lay person, we're going to post baby pictures!

Hey Ellie! Congrats on the big belly! I am in the process of becoming a doula (this is when everyone says to me What???) and would love help you with your birth. If you have any questions, I probably don't know the answer, but I can find it! My best advice is to try and have the baby as natural as possible. Enjoy the sleep now while you can get it!

You guys will do just fine as parents. It's the ones that think they have it all figured out beforehand that I worry about. Parenting is all about learning to adapt and being willing to change your plan of attack (for lack of a better phrase) based on the situation and child. The real amazing thing is that everything you really need to know for the first few months will come totally natural. You will find yourself doing things to calm the babe, feed the babe, hold the babe, without even thinking about it. You just know. It's a God-given instinct that is only experienced once you become parents. That's not to say that you will not be stumped, perplexed, confused, frustrated, exasperated at times. Learning to adjust is key. And everything you think you know right now you should just throw out the window. The things you really need to know will come when baby does. It's this incredible God experience. I can't wait for you to join the ranks of us parents. It's a wonderfully difficult but totally worth it experience.
